Terms of Service
Last updated: July 4, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing and using the PromptGod Chrome Extension ("the Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
2. Description of Service
PromptGod is a browser extension that automatically detects and masks sensitive data patterns (such as API keys, passwords, and tokens) when you paste or type text into supported AI chatbot websites. All processing occurs locally within your browser.
3. Use at Your Own Risk
The Extension uses pattern-based detection (regular expressions) to identify sensitive data. While we strive for comprehensive coverage, no automated tool can guarantee 100% detection of all sensitive information. You are responsible for reviewing the text you share with third-party services.
4. No Warranty
The Extension is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be error-free or uninterrupted.
5. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the developers of PromptGod be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the Extension, including but not limited to data leaks that occur despite the Extension's operation.
6. Data Handling
The Extension stores masked data entries locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any external server. You may clear all stored data at any time through the Extension's popup interface.
7. Third-Party Websites
The Extension operates on third-party websites (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, etc.). We are not affiliated with these services and are not responsible for their data handling practices, terms, or privacy policies.
8. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Extension following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Open Source
PromptGod is open-source software distributed under the MIT License. You may view, modify, and distribute the source code in accordance with the license terms available at github.com/Skygazer1111/PromptGod.
